What Don't You Do in a Toyota 86?

At Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park- Chandler, AZ

What happens when you put two fun, car-crazed girl friends behind the wheel of a Toyota 86?

I can tell you what doesn't happen.....

We don't pick up groceries in it.

We don't haul kids in it.

We don't help our neighbors move in it.

OKAY, so I can tell you what DOES happen...

First, we let our hair down.

Secondly, we take off our heels and position our feet on the pedals.

Next, we start the engine.

Lastly, we rip through the gears and lay it down!

It's pretty simple unless you want to make it complicated. I will warn you, if you are used to driving an automatic, you might want to get those legs in shape (or at least your left one) before planning on driving a fair distance.

Enough about how we looked behind the wheel...here's my two cents. Toyota did a nice job transitioning the 86 from it's former Scion FR-S. The redesign for 2017 gave it a more aggressive look with not only a new badge, but reconfigured front and rear LED lights, a larger front air intake and sporty new 17 in alloy wheels just to name a few..

Visually, the 86 has made some pretty significant improvements which can be seen at first glance and are desirable. Under the hood the 2.0-liter four-cylinder, 6-speed manual increased in horsepower from 200 to 205 with 156 lb-ft of torque up from 151. More power equates to lesser fuel economy, but at 21/28 mpg city/highway it's still good in this hood. With top speed of 134 mph and sprinting 0-60 mph in 6.2 seconds, you can bet us girls were delivering the fun in "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!"
